Getting Wellness Back on Track
For the past month and a half I have been focused on my health and ways to improve my overall wellbeing. My skin has not been looking its best, and I wanted to find skincare products and routines to help get beautiful youthful skin. It’s sad to say that I have somewhat let myself go. Yeah, right; I say that full of as much sarcasm as you can imagine. I can’t stand when people use that phrase, especially in reference to someone else; more specifically when men use it about women. I have not let myself go, I have been living life! And life has been tricky and different, and scary at times; with a lot of adjustments to make.
Covid-19 Routines
I already loved being home pre-pandemic, so having an excuse to stay in the house was a frustration but also a relief. If I didn’t want to do my hair, I didn’t have to. If I didn’t feel like getting dressed, I didn’t do it. Makeup, forget about it. Snacks… all day. Cooking, more than I have ever done in my entire life. I was living my best life in the confines of my home. Until the unexpected months later rolled around and the consequences caught up with me.
Due to my “Covid self-care” I have gained a significant amount of weight. I heard that the average person gained about 10 pounds during the pandemic; well let’s just say I have always been above average in everything I do. I also have noticed that my skin has been very dry and dull. I wasn’t feeling that great and after a while my newly adopted covid routine just wasn’t fun anymore.
First, I would like to share some products I have found for some real self care. Below are some of the skincare products and routines for youthful skin that I started using to get back on track. I want to briefly go over these and how I use them in my skincare routine that I use to help promote moisturized and youthful looking skin.
Skincare Supplements for beautiful youthful skin
Skinnyfit Super Youth Multi-Collagen peptides– So far I have been taking collagen for about a month and have experienced many benefits from it. According to Web MD, Health Benefits of Collagen; “Collagen is a protein responsible for healthy joints and skin elasticity, or stretchiness. It’s in your bones, muscles, and blood, comprising three quarters of your skin and a third of the protein in your body. As you age, your existing collagen breaks down, and it gets harder for your body to produce more. As a result, many people turn to collagen supplements.” So far some of the benefits I have experienced from taking collagen daily are, increased energy, decreased appetite, weight loss, and added benefits in dental health with an increase in saliva production.
The collagen that I am taking is the Skinnyfit Super Youth Multi-Collagen Peptides. I am using this product for 90 days and reviewing my results on my Super Naturally Me youtube channel. So far I am 6 weeks in and have no complaints!

My skincare routine
Daily skincare routine:
- Collagen supplement every morning
- Hair, skin and nails vitamin every day
- Wash and moisturize face
- Make-up removing cloths at night
Every other day (morning or night) routine:
- buttah. skin transforming kit All three products, first cleanser, next serum, lastly moisturizer.
Weekly skincare routine:
- Facial mud mask (10-20 mins) once a week.
Other Suggestions for Beautiful Youthful Skin
In closing, there are other ways to naturally care for your skin as well. Doing things to care for your body and overall health will spill over into healthy looking skin. Here are some other quick tips:
- Drink lots of water
- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables
- Good sleeping habits
- Moisturize daily and use natural oils (some natural moisturizers and oils, shea butter, coconut oil, almond oil)
- Remove make-up at night

I keep meaning to look into collagen more. I’m plant-based, so will need to find a vegan option, but I’ve seen a lot out there. During COVID I upped my nighttime and morning skincare routine and love it. It’s so relaxing and is now a signal to my body to settle down to sleep at night and start my day in the mornings!
